Many people like being able to swap out lenses on a DSLR as well as having the control you have over the DSLR. And many people also like having a very portable and compact point and shoot camera. And to please both groups of people Sony has the NEX line of micro four thirds cameras which are basically a smaller version of a DSLR. But the one problem with the Sony NEX line of cameras is the lens selection.
Sony just doesn’t have a ton of lenses when compared to some companies like Canon and Nikon. But there is now a way to get around the limitation of only being able to use Sony lenses on Sony cameras. All you need to do is buy the new $400 EF to NEX Smart Adapter from Conurus. They’ve tested out this lens adapter with the Sony NEX-VG10, NEX-5, and the NEX-3.
The lens adapter is basically a product that connects to your camera just like a normal Sony lens. But instead of having a lens you have an adapter that allows you to connect Canon EF and EF-S lenses. Things like autofocus won’t work but you’ll still be able to control the image stabilization, aperture, and view the EXIF data. There is only a limited supply of these new adapters.
