We’ve seen quite a few cameras at CES 2012 ranging from normal point and shoots, to interchangeable lens cameras, to DSLRs, to even mirrorless cameras like the one Fujifilm announced today called the X-Pro 1 which is coming to the market in February for a price starting at $1,700.
Now we’ve already heard quite a bit of information about the upcoming Fujifilm X-Pro 1 because of many rumors and leaks but now we have all of the official and confirmed details from Fujifilm. We’ll start with the sensor on this camera which is a 16-megapixel APS-C X-Trans sensor which Fujifilm is such a good APS-C sensor that it actually rivals some of the full frame DSLRs on the market today.
The Fujifilm X-Pro 1 will sell along with three brand new XF Fujinon lenses that are compatible with the X-Mount built into this camera. They designed the new mount to be quite a bit thinner making images better and shutter speed faster. There is the XF188mmF2 R which is a f/2.0 pancake, there is also the XF60mmF2.4 R which is a 90mm f/2.4 macro lens, and finally there is the XF35mmf1.4 R which is a 53mm f/1.4 lens.
This new camera will be available starting in February and although we don’t know about the pricing officially reports are that the camera will cost $1,700 and those same reports have been right so far. The lenses will cost about $650 each.
