Last week Nokia announced the rumored Nokia Lumia 900 which will be one of AT&T’s very first LTE Windows Phones. And they also said the Lumia 900 will be an exclusive smartphone for AT&T’s network. But it looks like that might not actually be the case. There are actually some reports suggesting that carriers other than AT&T will soon get the Lumia 900 as well.
The Nokia Lumia 900 should arrive on AT&T’s network first on March 18th. And 45 days after AT&T gets the phone other carriers should be able to sell the Lumia 900 as well. Reports are that T-Mobile will probably get the Lumia 900 and chances are Verizon and Sprint could get the phone as well. But later probably during the third quarter of 2012. Nokia won’t confirm if these reports are true or false.
But Nokia was asked if they would bring the Lumia 900 to other markets when they announced the phone and they responded with this: “We’ll take this from market to market to market. There will be slight differences, but you’re seeing as this beachhead strategy takes place, we’ve also announced plans for China and Latin America.” So there is a chance that we’d see the Lumia 900 on carriers other than AT&T in the United States later this year. But chances are the phone will have slight differences like maybe a 12MP camera instead of the 8MP camera on the AT&T model.
