Verizon Announces The Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx At CES 2012

Motorola Droid RAZR MaxxWe saw the Motorola Droid RAZR arrive towards the end of 2011 as Verizon’s flagship Android smarpthone until Google launched the Samsung Galaxy Nexus also on Verizon. But the RAZR is still a pretty nice smartphone, especially if you really like extremely thin smartphones. It’s only been a few months but now Verizon has a second Motorola Droid RAZR they are bringing to market.

The smartphone is called the Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx and it’s going to arrive on Verizon’s network sometime in the future along with the Droid RAZR in Purple, both will support Verizon’s 4G LTE network. The Droid RAZR in Purple brings a third color option to Motorola’s Droid RAZR line of smartphones. Previously the 16GB smartphone came in both white and black but now you can pick up the RAZR in purple. All three color options are going to cost just $200 on Verizon’s 4G LTE network if you are willing to sign a two year contract.

The new smartphone here is the Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx which is kind of a slightly updated version of the RAZR. Overall the smartphone is almost identical to the current RAZR, it’s still 8.99mm thick and still comes in the color black but now it has a much larger battery inside offering 21 hours of battery life and it also will have more storage at 32GB instead of 16GB. So that’s a nice update even though the RAZR Maxx isn’t completely new. The RAZR Maxx will cost $300 on a two year Verizon contract.
