AMD Launches The Radeon HD 7770 And The 7750 Graphics Cards

AMD Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition AMD has already launched their high end versions of their new 7000 series graphics cards with the Radeon HD 7970 and Radeon HD 7950. Both cards are quite a bit faster and better than what they have replaced. I guess one of the only problems with the high end 7000 series cards is the cost, not everyone wants to pay $500 and up for a graphics card.

That’s where the more mid range AMD 7000 series cards come into place. AMD announced the new Radeon HD 7770 and 7750 graphics cards which are both very similar to the Radeon HD 6850 from last year.

Both of the new graphics cards do perform better than the Radeon HD 6850 in most cases. But the performance isn’t the biggest thing with these new graphics cards, the big thing is the power consumption which is quite a bit less than the previous generation of cards.

The new 28nm manufacturing process that these new 7000 series cards use allows them to run faster and use less energy at the same time. The Radeon HD 7770 GHz is clocked at 1GHz which is a first for AMD. And the 7770 uses 25W less than the previous version of the card as well which is great if you want to save energy and have a faster graphics card.

Since these new cards perform very well and use very little energy and produce very little heat they are great for those wanting to have a Home Theater PC or HTPC.

The AMD Radeon HD 7770 GHz is on sale today for $160 and the Radeon HD 7750 is as well but at a lower $110 price tag.

What graphics card do you use?
